Model options
The help for this page of the Version 2 transmitter, in its newest words. A transmitter on V2 B92 or older shows older words.
On the transmitter: Model setupOptions
This model's trims, motor switch, timer and warnings.
Touch a box to type a new value.
Touch a switch to turn it on or off.
'OK' keeps the changes and goes to the Front screen.
Trims
Trim multiplier (0 = off): how far each trim step moves.
5 is a very good default. Use 0 on a flybarless helicopter.
Copy trims to all banks: on, a trim change goes to every bank.
Off, each bank keeps its own trims.
Motor
Throttle channel: the channel the motor (ESC) is on. Usually 3.
Motor off value: what the throttle channel is sent while the motor is off or the safety is on.
-67 is the default, and nearly always right.
It is not reversed with the channel:
if you reverse the throttle, change this value to match.
Use motor kill switch: on, the transmitter checks the motor switch before it connects: at switch-on, or after a lost link.
While the motor is on, it says 'The motor switch is ON.'
and waits until you switch it off.
The motor switch has the job 'Bank 4 & Motor' ('Transmitter setup', 'Switches'). Its three positions:
Away = bank 1, 2 or 3, motor on.
Mid = bank 4, motor on.
Near = bank 4, motor OFF.
Timer
The timer runs while the motor is on, and pauses when it is off.
Timer counts down: on, the timer counts down from 'Count down from (minutes)' and says the last ten seconds.
With 'Timer voice' on ('Transmitter setup', 'Sounds etc.'), it then says 'Stop flying!'.
Off, it counts up, and the minutes box is grey.
Warnings
Stop flying volts (per cell): below this, per cell, the transmitter says 'Stop flying!'.
It watches the model's battery, as the receiver measures it.
When the motor stops, the voltage recovers a little.
So set this a little lower than you might think.
Find the best value by trying: every model differs.
Volts correction (x 0.01 V): corrects a small error in that battery reading, in hundredths of a volt per cell.
For example, 5 adds 0.05 V to each cell. It may be negative.
Compare with a good voltmeter, and adjust until the two agree.
Current warning (A, 0 = off): above this current, the transmitter sounds a warning and shows 'Current too high!'.
It warns once each time the model connects. 0 turns it off.
More
'Model picture ...', or a touch on the picture, chooses this model's picture.
'Servo types ...': each servo's pulse rate and centre, for a Version 1 receiver.
The receiver's output (SBUS, CRSF, PPM ...) is not set here.
A Version 1 receiver always sends SBUS (all 16 channels) as well as its servo outputs.
On a Version 2 receiver, choose it on the phone app's 'Output protocol' page.
