Macros

The help for this page of the Version 2 transmitter, in its newest words. A transmitter on V2 B92 or older shows older words.

On the transmitter: Model setupMacros

A macro moves one channel to a set position for a set time, when a trigger channel (usually a switch) reaches the top of its travel. Useful, or even essential, for a helicopter rescue switch or a fixed-wing snap roll.

To set up a macro

  1. Choose a 'Macro number', 1 to 8.
  2. 'Trigger channel' starts the macro: 1 to 16, or 0 = off.
  3. 'Channel to move': 1 to 16. Its name shows beside it.
  4. 'Move to position': 0 to 180 (90 is the centre).
  5. 'Delay' and 'Duration', in tenths of a second (see below).
  6. Press 'OK' to save.

How a macro runs

It starts when the trigger channel's output reaches the very top (180) from lower down. If its output never gets there (its curve or subtrim stops it short, say), the macro never starts.
'Delay' (0 to 255) begins. When it ends, the channel moves and 'Duration' (1 to 255) begins. When 'Duration' ends, the channel goes back to normal and the macro ends.
'Delay' 0 = move at once. The longest 'Delay' or 'Duration' is 25.5 seconds (255 tenths).
If the trigger channel drops below the top while the macro runs, the macro stops and the channel goes back to normal.
To run it again, move the trigger channel down, then back up.
Switch on with the trigger away from the top: a trigger that is already there can start the macro.

'Move to position' is the servo's real position: the channel's curve, trims and reversing do not change it. With the motor off, the motor channel stays off whatever a macro does.

Several macros

One trigger can start several macros, to move two or more channels. They run side by side.
For two moves one after the other, set the second macro's 'Delay' to the first macro's 'Delay' + 'Duration'.
