Failsafe
The help for this page of the Version 2 transmitter, in its newest words. A transmitter on V2 B92 or older shows older words.
On the transmitter: Model setupFailsafe
Choose where the controls go if the receiver loses the signal.
To set it
- Switch the model on, and connect.
- Tick the channels that should go to a set position.
- Put the sticks and switches where the model should go, with the motor switched off.
- Hold them there, and press 'Save'.
'All' ticks every channel. 'None' clears them all.
'OK' keeps the ticks and goes back to 'Model setup'.
With the motor off, the throttle is saved at 'Motor off value'.
The positions are saved IN THE RECEIVER.
So 'Save' works ONLY WHILE CONNECTED.
If not, it says 'No model is connected.' and saves nothing.
'Save' also sends the ticks.
After changing them, press 'Save' again.
What happens
If the receiver hears nothing for about one and a half seconds, it moves the controls to the saved positions.
When the signal comes back, full control returns.
Which receivers use the ticks
A Version 1 receiver moves only the ticked channels.
The others stay where they were.
A Version 2 receiver ignores the ticks, for now.
'Save' stores all 16 channels, and all 16 go to their saved positions. So hold EVERY stick and switch where it should be when you press 'Save'.
A Version 2 receiver that sends CRSF to a flight controller (Rotorflight) does not use these positions.
The flight controller's own failsafe takes over: set it there.
