These very extraordinary oboes recently came to light from a new maker in the far east.
.
The price is just £1,455 - that's what you might expect to pay for a student oboe, yet Da Vinci oboes play, sound, and look just like a professional oboe.
The wood used is some of the best I've ever seen. The key work is very well made and not at all soft or bendy.
Every oboe is tested, tuned and adjusted by me. I won't supply one that I wouldn't want to play myself.

To hear me (Malcolm Messiter) playing a new Da Vinci oboe in part of a Bach sonata with harpsichord, click here -> BWV 1020 ... This recording was made in a single take without any edits, at home. The Da Vinci oboe was "straight out of the box", with no tuning or adjustments of any kind. It just worked! The playing isn't quite perfect I know, but that's not really the point here.
